CBD is an active chemical from industrial hemp that is non-psychoactive. Short for the compound Cannabidiol, it’s produced by the cannabis sativa plant, hemp type, and is extracted for human consumption due to its reported health benefits. Importantly, it should not be confused with THC, another active compound which is found in marijuana and causes the effect of ‘getting high’. THC is psychoactive and can cause disorientation, and CBD oils generally have less than 0.2% THC to qualify as ‘non-THC’ products. It is this compound that has the most legal implications, whereas CBD is typically and increasingly legal (always check the law in your country or state).
A phytocannabinoid, CBD has become hugely popular in the last few years and has been at the centre of many international legislation changes and high-impact stories in the press.
Now in the mainstream, it’s benefits are becoming more well known, allowing an increased number of people to try it and see if it works for them.
What is CBD oil?
CBD oil is the result of extracting CBD from a hemp plant. This can either be isolated – isolate – or can be combined with other beneficial compounds from hemp – full spectrum. It is thought that by containing other compounds which may enhance the effectiveness of the CBD, that you can achieve something known as ‘the entourage effect’.
It has more or less the same consistency as oil and this supplement is easily added to vapes and edibles, and of course, added to water.
How does CBD oil work?
CBD oil works through digestion and is absorbed by the body quickly, at which point you can start to benefit from the reported effects. Naturally, CBD has the ability to bind with receptors in our body.
As discussed, doses can be taken in a variety of ways depending on your preference; you can add CBD oil to vapes, edibles, creams or with our treated CBD water.
What’s the problem with CBD oil and how does Swiss micelle technology CBD fix it?
Unfortunately, for a standard CBD oil that you buy, your body is unable to absorb more that 5-10% of the advertised concentration. This can obviously limit the effects and your value for money. Most of the CBD is lost in the digestion process, in the liver and intestines, which Swiss micelle technology has overcome.
Swiss michelle technology treats the CBD so that you can absorb up to 99% of the advertised concentration, up to 15 times that of other leading brands. The process is 100% natural and converts fat-soluble substances in the oil into water-soluble substances, retaining all of the useful cannabinoids you desire.
As 99% water soluble, it bypasses the digestive system and is more efficiently delivered to the bloodstream. Find our more here.
